Use AI to keep database documentation up-to-date, so your team can focus on building
DataDocs security, privacy and terms of use policies.
DataDocs is committed to your data's security. To generate your data catalog and documentation, DataDocs requires read-only access in order to extract metadata from your database. We neither access nor store any of your database's actual data, only the necessary metadata for documentation purposes.
For an added layer of security within your database or data warehouse, we strongly advise setting up a dedicated user or role specifically for DataDocs. This account should be configured with read-only permissions, limited strictly to `SELECT` operations on metadata tables. This ensures a secure yet efficient integration, safeguarding your database while enabling precise documentation generation.
We prioritize your data security as one of our core responsibilities. Our service requires access to your database credentials to extract metadata and generate comprehensive documentation. This system has been built with stringent security measures to protect those credentials.
Our web application and data extraction/generation service are stationed in separate Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). This ensures one-way handoff flow of the client credentials into our backend, preventing any possible reverse data breach. This mechanism mitigates the risk of unauthorized access to critical data, thus safeguarding your credentials from any external vulnerability.
Post handoff, your credentials are immediately stowed away in a secure vault within our infrastructure. Access to this vault is stringently controlled and is limited to only the extraction/generation service. We've implemented these measures to prevent unauthorized access and provide maximum security for your credentials. We continually monitor and update our security practices to keep in pace with evolving security threats. Be assured, the integrity and confidentiality of your data is our highest priority.
